How do I reset my password?

Click on "Forgot your password?" on the login page. Enter the e-mail address used to register and click on "Request Password". Within five minutes, you will be sent an e-mail with your username and a new password. Copy and paste it to avoid making any mistakes.

What do I do if my account is locked?

You will need a new password to unlock your profile. Click on "Forgot your password?" on the login page. Enter the e-mail address used to register and click on "Request Password". Your profile will be unlocked and a new password will be sent to the e-mail address provided. Copy and paste it to avoid making any mistakes.

Why can I not upload my CV or other attachments when applying?

A maximum of 10 files can be uploaded (including CV, education certificates, references, etc.), and the size of each file should not exceed 1 MB. If you have not exceeded either of these limits, then try to re-upload the documents using an alternative browser.

If files exceed the limit, upload the most important document – i.e., your CV – and forward the rest directly to the recruitment team once you have been contacted. 


I am unable to log in due to technical error.

First, delete cookies in your browser, then restart your Internet browser and try again. Using an alternative browser such as Chrome or Firefox may also resolve the issue.

If you are getting the error “HTTP Request Failed”, please contact technical_recruitment@abb.com.

 

I am unable to access my profile due to incorrect login or too many failed attempts.

Ensure that the correct password has been entered. Alternatively, if the account is locked after several failed attempts, it can be unlocked by requesting a new password. Click on the "Forgot your password?" link on the Login Page, enter the e-mail address used to register and click on "Request Password". The system will unlock your profile and send a new password; copy and paste to avoid making any mistakes.

When I try to register, it says my e-mail address is reserved and cannot be used.

Try to log in rather than registering. If you do not know your password, click on "Forgot your password?" on the Login Page, enter the e-mail address and click on "Request Password". An e-mail will be sent with a new password; copy and paste it to avoid making any mistakes.

Where can I find the reference number of the position I am applying for?

Reference numbers or publication IDs are usually displayed on the job advertisement. Click on the job title to display the reference number and job description.

My application was not acknowledged. Did you receive it?

Once an application is submitted successfully, the application status will change from "Draft" to "In process". This information is available on the Overview page of your profile. If your application is still marked "Draft", please resubmit.

How can I get an update on my application?

Our recruitment team will contact you in due course with further details about the progress of your application. You should also check for changes to the application status on the Overview page.

I would like to cancel my application. How do I proceed?

Once an application has been submitted, you can withdraw it but not cancel it. To do this:

  • Go to your Overview page
  • Under Applications, find the required application
  • Click on "X” (withdraw) on the right

I am trying to submit an application but receive a notification that the "Publication is not released".

This may occur when a job posting is no longer active or not available anymore.


My application status reads "Unsuccessful". Was my application received?

If the application status is marked "Unsuccessful", unfortunately you have not been selected for the position on this occasion.

What is the difference between locked and unlocked candidate profile?

Unlocked (or “Released”) profile means that your CV will be kept in our talent pool, and our recruitment team may contact you with suitable vacancies. If your profile is locked, it is only visible to recruiters processing your applications. You can change the status of your profile at any time:

  • Log in to your profile.
  • Go to the Settings page.
  • Scroll down to the Profile Status section.
  • Click on one of the options:
  1. I would like to allow recruiters to access my profile in order to be considered also for other jobs that match my interests (unlocked profile).
  2. I would like to be considered only for the job(s) I applied for (locked profile).

How do I receive career opportunities via e-mail?

To receive vacancies that match your profile, set up an alert on the Overview page stating what you are looking for and how often you wish to be e-mailed.

How do I change the e-mail address on my account?

  • Log in to your profile.
  • Go to the Overview page.
  • Replace the old e-mail address with the new one.

How do I change my password?

  • Log in to your profile.
  • Go to the Settings page.
  • Under "Do you want to change your password", enter both your old and new passwords.
  • The new password will be effective starting with your next login.

How do I set up job alerts?

  • Log in to your profile.
  • Go to the Overview page.
  • Go to Job alerts.
  • Click on "Add Job Alert" and follow the instructions.

How do I delete my profile?

  • Log in to your profile.
  • Go to the Settings page.
  • Go to "Delete profile" and confirm your decision.

When I click on another page, the site returns to the login page. What should I do?

How can I transport data from social media?

You can click on the LinkedIn plugin on ABB Register/Login. Once you see a pop-up window from social media, please log in to your account and confirm that you allow ABB to access your LinkedIn data. Only Education, Work Experience and Personal Data (name, e-mail and address) will be copied to your ABB Candidate Profile.

Login with LinkedIn does not work for me.

Please change the browser. For Internet Explorer, please follow advice from LinkedIn Help.

Will LinkedIn login overwrite my current profile?

No, data will be added only if you download it. Otherwise nothing is automatically overwritten.

Which mobile devices are supported?

Will updates to my LinkedIn profile automatically update the profile in ABB?

No, data will be updated only if you download it. Otherwise nothing is automatically transmitted to your ABB Candidate Profile.

If I create a profile on mobile, will I be able to access it via desktop as well?

Yes, you can switch between mobile and desktop devices and see all the data you have entered. 

When logging in with my ABB e-mail, I get an error “User name and e-mail address do not match”.

ABB e-mail addresses are not accepted on external Career Pages. If you are ABB employee, please apply via HRGT portal. If you are an ABB contractor, register with a non-ABB e-mail address on Career Pages.
