What are the opportunities for short- and long-term international assignments?

We are active in more than 100 countries and are, therefore, a truly global company. Global mobility is essential to support business strategies, allow exchange of know-how and provide career development.

To facilitate international assignments, we have implemented a progressive framework that supports different assignment types, such as short-term assignments that last only for a few months and long-term assignments that may last for several years.

How do you support women working at ABB?

We recognize that a diverse and talented workforce is a key competitive advantage and we do what we can to create a supportive environment for women to succeed in.

Our policies include flexible working time, maternity leave and ensuring female talent is given appropriate attention and opportunity in our performance and development processes.

In 2012, we established a group-wide inclusiveness network, aimed primarily at finding and highlighting female talent in regions and business divisions. We also take part in international initiatives, sponsoring The Women's Forum in 2012, for example, to raise the profile of women in technology.

What rewards and benefits do you offer?

The rewards and benefits we offer are a critical part of how we compete for talent. Our overarching commitment is to be competitive externally while ensuring we are consistent and equitable throughout the organization.

Compensation is typically guided by what the market pays for similar jobs as well as an individual's technical expertise, work experience and track record of performance.

Is there much travel involved when you work at ABB?

Wherever you work, you will have colleagues all over the world. Talking to them and working with them is a part of everyday life here. Business trips are also common, but the frequency depends on your role.
