We are offering a position as a Senior Automation Software Engineer or as an Automation Software Engineer at ABB Oy, Marine and Ports unit in Helsinki. In this position, you will be responsible for the automation software design of ship automation systems. You will act as an automation application specialist in a multi-disciplinary project team, being responsible for the solution design and programming for both control systems and user interfaces. Your tasks will include designing automation systems based on project specific functional descriptions and implementing the applications to the ABB's automation system. Your tasks also include solution wide testing, on-site commissioning, and project reporting along with good and precise documentation. We require a M.Sc. degree in automation or control engineering, or a similar educational background. You have strong skills and experience in PLC programming and IEC 61131-3 languages. You are familiar with industrial communication buses and protocols such as Ethernet, NMEA1383, Modbus TCP/IP and RTU, Profibus and OPC. You are also familiar with the MS Windows OS and MS Office. Success in this role requires good communication skills along with ability to produce clear and comprehensive reports and documents. You can also be described as a strong team player. The readiness to travel as well as excellent command of English are required. The familiarity with C/C++ or C# programming, knowledge of cyber security and good spoken and written Finnish are considered as an advantage.
