Account Manager

Looking to hire a local sales person for region of Ontario Canada. Candidate will be part of local sales team and travel is required from 50 to 60% of time. Candidate will be responsible for some key accounts and a regional territory. Candidate will need to exhibit the necessary sales skills with experience in selling engineered systems, consulting studies, and/or digital solutions.

Tasks:

Manage the Total Customer Relationship
- Develop and /or facilitate relationships with customers at all levels both within ABB and within the customer
- Apply a high level business acumen, including an understanding of the customer’s business drivers, industry, economic trends,issues and competition
- Act as focal point for problem resolution and initiate and monitor the Customer Complaint Resolution Process
- Monitor and maintain an awareness of all key ABB/client activities, including the representation of client issues, needs and concerns throughout ABB Account Planning and Management
- Lead the development and implementation of the account plan to include: designing the executive relationship strategy, prioritizing the opportunities, identifying a target for each solution (project) including the required resources and support for same
- Consistently promote solutions that are considered strategic and high-value by both the customer and ABB
- Drive growth in assigned accounts
- Leverage internal ABB channels to maintain and improve customer satisfaction and to maximize revenue
- Develop and maintain detailed knowledge of the customer’s strategy, purchasing behavior, organization including decision makers, influencers, and sponsors
- Develop and maintain detailed knowledge of BU strategies as well as current and emerging solution capabilities for products,
systems and service
- Time management skills, Effective writing and producing timely and precise customer visit report and /or minute of meeting and actions follow up.
Opportunity Management
- Actively seek out new opportunities at assigned accounts
- Monitor and update all key data related to the opportunities, utilizing the prescribed tools and processes including SalesForce
- Lead the development of the tactical plan to ensure a winning Bid, utilizing the ABB Capture Team Selling process
- Provide rolling forecasts based on the development of named opportunities and actions to support same
- Leverage internal channels for support during the entire process from early pursuit through to final negotiations
- Plan, facilitate and lead negotiations
- Provide regular feedback regarding status of all key opportunities during and after bidding
Teamwork and Communication
- Provide regular reports, briefings and reviews as required using the agreed processes
- Actively participate in the Account Management community to share ideas, expertise and lessons learned with other Account
Managers and teams, to promote cross-ABB learning and to identify new solution possibilities

Requirements:

- Person with minimum 5 to 7 years proven sales experience, Min 4 years of related account management experience
- Proven effective communicator and facilitator
- Proven track record of target achievement
- Minimum educational requirements include either Professional Engineer degree, Technician or Technologist graduate diploma.
Proven track record in managing a sales region and key or major accounts
- Proven track record selling engineered systems, consulting services and digital solutions
- Contract management skills are a necessity
