Market Segment Manager - HPR Solutions

The Segment Manager – Rectifier Solutions (SM) is a core member of Industrial Automation business growth leadership team. Integrity, safety, customer focus & collaboration are pillars of our team efforts.

Tasks:

• Design & sell complete ABB Rectifier solutions including construction for North American industrial applications in Aluminum, Steel, Chemicals and other metals (Copper, zinc, Graphite etc).
• Develop and implement systems and lifecycle services sales plan to meet or exceed sales and margin targets
• Establish and maintain effective customer relationships at all levels (Problem solving, commercial, technical, administrative, trade events, technical seminars etc.).
• Support and facilitate introduction of ABB capabilities to end-users, OEMs and EPCMs in target industries. Prepare and deliver effective product and solutions presentations. Represent ABB with white papers at targeted industry events.
• Actively contribute to the development of new opportunities and support ABB sales teams with customer visits, job site visits, training, sales presentations, trade and industry event attendance and participation and other Business Unit discussions.
• Review analyze and define customer requirements. Develop and provide quality business offers on-time to meet customer RFQs and ABB requirements. Coordinate input from various stakeholders including; operations, finance and legal to develop proposals. Plans, facilitates and conducts customer negotiations. Ensure the successful outcome of proposals.
• Collaborate with execution teams and act as focal point for problem resolution and monitors customer claims. Log and communicate customer satisfaction issues and coordinate responses with appropriate parties. Ensure with operations that contracts are executed correctly and that deliveries (products, goods and/or services) are on time at the agreed cost, with the assistance of involved stakeholders. Follow and track order acceptance procedures including correct input to other BUs. Coordinate the use of internal or external resources in order to improve our offer.
• Collaborate with other ABB Business Units in order to optimize and maximize our footprint.
• Ensure that customer business strategy and information (investment plan, key players, active projects etc) applicable to our growth is updated and documented. Comply with the ABB sales processes such as use of SFdC.
• Build & maintain an up to date portfolio applicable to industry segment. Ensure that market information (monitoring of competitors, offerings to customers, price levels) is updated and documented. . Must understand competitive solutions to help position ABB solution.
• Develop and maintain relationships with global ABB Front End Sales organization.

Requirements:

• University degree in Electrical Engineering. Master degree is preferred
• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in industrial projects environment with hands-on knowledge of Rectifier applications (Rectifiers, HV and MV Transformers, Substations, Power Distribution, Harmonics, Power factor, Controls, Construction etc)
• Project execution experiences is an asset
• Bilingual in French and English; knowledge of Spanish is an asset
• Strong communication and presentation skills both verbal and in writing
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Continuously learn and develop professional expertise
• Consider the needs of both internal and external customers
• Seek out new and innovative ways of approaching situations and tasks
• Takes initiative and acts with confidence
• Candidate must meet the USA entry requirements for frequent visits
• Location is Montreal. Must be open to travel as required (expect 30-50% of the time)
