(Senior) Scientist Power Systems Dynamics and Control 80-100%

As a research scientist, you will be working on the emerging power systems technology, with a special focus on power system control and automation solutions. We are looking for a person with an outstanding track record in research and eagerness to excel in an industrial environment. You will work within an international team of researchers and business partners.

Tasks:

- Propose, analyze, evaluate technically and economically emerging technologies for grid operation
- Develop prototypes of next generation of systems and solutions in the power industry
- Contribute to (and potentially lead) research projects addressing the demands of our business units
- Disseminate results in scientific publications, patent applications, and technical reports
- Build a network in the company and become known for your skills
- Submit proposals for projects that turn state-of-the-art research results into effective solutions for our business units

Requirements:

- Ph. D. degree in Electrical Engineering or Automatic Control specializing in power systems stability and control
- Detailed understanding of power system dynamics, i.e. transient, voltage or small-disturbance stability
- Broad knowledge in electrical system fundamentals, including power grids, power electronics interfaces and electrical machinery
- Extensive experience with algorithm implementation and analysis in programming environments e.g. Matlab/Simulink, Modelica etc.
- Strong publication record in international peer-reviewed journals and conferences
- Experience with standard power system analysis tools such as PSCAD, EMTP, PowerFactory etc. as well as knowledge in built-in programming languages such as Python, DSL etc.
- Creative, self-motivated, flexible team player with an ability to work independently
- Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication (written and oral) skills in English, (willingness to learn) German is a plus
