Head of Strategic Sourcing, Business Unit Robotics & Motion Motors & Generators

As the Head of Strategic Sourcing, BU RMMG, you will be responsible for developing and implementing key sourcing strategies across BU for the largest spend and most critical sourcing categories. Work to continuously improve the maturity and effectiveness of the category management organizations at all levels. Work across SCM teams to define, develop and manage the best common supply base through commodity management, promoting global sourcing and working towards supplier consolidation.

Tasks:

• Lead team of Global SCM resources, providing them with a structured approach to the development of category and supply base management
• Ensure Global Category Team Leaders (GCM) align strategies and efforts with the key business priorities and manage total cost of ownership through continuous cost reduction, NWC improvements, managing risks, ensuring supplier sustainability and driving supplier quality/performance
• Responsible for overall BU Category KPIs and maturity level
• Set and drive aggressive targets for the Global SCM resources in line with the BU targets
• Represent BU in any Group SCM Center of Excellence Direct (COE-D) efforts and collaborate with them on the development of new sourcing processes and tools
• Support negotiations with key suppliers and ensure general use of global contracts
• Establish transparent category strategies, review and communicate to ensure required BU teams are aware of planned direction and actions
• Establish and conduct regular key projects gate reviews for GCMs to ensure on time delivery of savings and other project benefits
• Implement ABB standards on health & safety and business ethics internally and drives same standard through supply base


Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in business field
- Minimum 10 years in a management position (majority SCM) in a multicultural and multi-business environment
- Superior negotiation skills in a highly challenging business environment
- Good knowledge of ABB business units and product
- Fluent in English, other languages are an added advantage
- Flexibility to travel up to 50%
