ABB is a global leader in industrial technology. Established in Vietnam in 1993, ABB recently has around 900 employees working in three regions across the country to ensure nationwide presence of the ABB brand. The Head Office and Transformer Factories are located in Hanoi, High Voltage and Medium Voltage Power Product factories are in Bac Ninh, other branch offices are in Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City. ABB’s Power Grid division delivers products, systems, services and software solutions. The products mainly include high voltage products, transformers, grid system and grid automation. The major customers are power value chain serving utility, industry, transportation and infrastructure.

Tasks:

ABB Vietnam is seeking Area Sales Manager who will be responsible for Transformer Sales and Marketing activities including market analysis, pre sales, after sales and customer relationship management. Based in Ha Noi city and reporting to the Sales & Marketing Manager, your key areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to:

• Manage and update market intelligence front end sales and other sales organizations in assigned markets.
• Provide feedback to front end sales, product management, R&D and technical department on new market influence.
• Collect and analyze customer data to support development of quotations and market data to develop sales and marketing strategies and opportunities.
• Manage and conduct marketing activities such as conferences, seminars, and assure correct and updated marketing/product information to customers and front end sales.
• Develop business in coordination with sales account managers and customers.
• Analyze and feedback on portfolio gaps and future customer needs to support R&D process.
• Understand customer needs and identify opportunities for business development.
• Promote and sell the local business unit portfolio of products and services in line with the business unit and divisional strategies.
• Analyze and develop solutions for tenders in technical and commercial manner.
• Drive development of quotations based on data and conduct risk reviews and register accurate input in the system.
• Cooperate with project manager to assist in communication, negotiations, customer meetings.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you should have an engineering degree (preferably electrical) with minimum 5 years of experience in sales and marketing in international companies. An MBA degree would be an added advantage. This role would suit someone who has strong analytical and negotiation skills and strong compliance understanding. You should be able to work in time zones and should have good command over English.
