Transformer protection and control RET620 ANSI
The RET620 ANSI is a dedicated transformer relay perfectly aligned for the protection, control, measurement and supervision of power transformers, unit and step-up transformers
The RET620 ANSI is a dedicated transformer relay perfectly aligned for the protection, control, measurement and supervision of power transformers, unit and step-up transformers including power generator-transformer blocks in utility and industry power distribution substations requiring ANSI/IEEE standards and ring-lug terminals. RET620 ANSI provides main protection for two- or three-winding transformers. Flexible user settings afford programming for different CT ratios and transformer phase shifts.
RET620 offers two standard ANSI configurations applicable to the most commonly-used power transformer combinations of delta and wye (grounded or ungrounded) windings. Both RET620 configurations feature local and remote control of the transformer high-side and low-side circuit breakers. Low impedance restricted earth-fault (REF) protection is included standard and voltage inputs either on the LV- or HV-side providing overexcitation, voltage and frequency protection elements and voltage, frequency, power and energy measurements. One of the configurations is featuring RTD/mA inputs. Both configurations also offer arch flash detection and additional binary I/O as option.
RET620 is a member of ABB’s Relion® family and a part of its 620 protection and control product series. The 620 series has been designed to unleash the full potential of the IEC61850 standard for communication and interoperability of substation automation devices including fast, horizontal relay-to-relay (GOOSE) communications for cost-effective, reliable and high-speed protection and control schemes. RET620 also includes support for Modbus® and DNP3 protocols.
