With more than 80 participants from across transmission, sub-transmission and distribution utilities, as well as consultants and external channel partners, the seminar was indicative of an increased demand for new digital substation enabling technologies in the region.
Led by multiple ABB speakers from across the Argentinian sales and engineering organization and global product management, the audience were engaged with showroom demonstrations and informative presentations covering the complete digital substation portfolio on offer from Grid Automation Systems and Products. Key highlights included the technical demonstrations of the SAM600, RTU500 series, MicroSCADA Pro, System Engineering Tools and the Relion series IEDs - with the latest process bus technology generating substantial attention.
"We are keen on providing our Argentinian customers with the firsthand experience and know-how they are searching for from a trusted partner.” said Rafael Pedrucci, HBU Manager – South America. “With this seminar, we were able to demonstrate to our customers the expertise gathered from an installed base of more than 15 digital substation installations worldwide since 2011, and share how ABB can support them in bridging the gap between analog and digital technologies."
The seminar has helped the ABB Argentina team move closer to implementing fantastic regional reference cases for future customers in South America.
Overall, the event was highly appreciated by all attendees, with a positive reception received from all with regard to the technology, knowledge sharing and networking opportunity. The team looks forward to following up with the attendees and seizing further opportunities to succeed with Digital Substations in Argentina and the surrounding region.
