Complete and reliable information about disturbances in the primary and/or in the secondary system together with continuous event-logging is accomplished by the disturbance recorder. The disturbance recorder is always included in Relion® 670 and 650 series IEDs and acquires sampled data of up to 40 analog and 352 binary signals.
The disturbance recorder function is characterized by great flexibility regarding configuration, starting conditions, recording times, and large storage capacity.
Every disturbance report is saved in the IED in the Comtrade format. The local HMI can be used to get information about the recordings or the disturbance report files may be uploaded to PCM600 for further analysis using the disturbance handling tool.
Up to 100 disturbance reports can be stored in the IED. If a new disturbance is to be recorded when the memory is full, the oldest disturbance report is overwritten by the latest one. The total recording capacity for the disturbance recorder is dependent on the sampling frequency, the number of analog and binary channels, and the recording time.
