For many years ABB has provided innovative and energy-efficient technologies to the rail sector. As an example the cooperation with the Rhaetian Railways (RhB) dates back to the early 20th century. Today ABB products are powering the RhB trains "Glacier Express" and the new fleet "Allegra". They are equipped with very powerful, robust and energy-efficient drive packages.
To mark the 125-year anniversary of ABB in Switzerland, a train composition of the Allegra fleet in 2016 is branded by ABB, circulating in the area exhibiting the major milestones in ABB's history. At the same time the long-standing cooperation between ABB and RhB is emphasized by this train. During the WEF, the Allegra train branded by ABB is running between Landquart and Davos and later on the entire railway network of Graubünden.
