Our recruitment process at a glance

It is our goal to match the right candidate to the right job and, at the same time, ensure that the recruitment process is fair and transparent for all candidates. This is why we focus only on job-related skills and competencies in the selection process.

1. Online application

As a first step, the responsible line manager and recruiter specify requirements for a particular position, including job-specific responsibilities, competencies and qualifications, as well as any other relevant information.

Based on that, the recruiter creates a job advertisement and posts it on our website. You apply online, and we confirm the receipt of your application by e-mail.

2. Initial selection

Our recruiters evaluate all applications. If your profile matches the requirements of the advertised position, your application will be forwarded to the line manager.

3. First interview

The first step is done: recruiter and line manager want to meet you. You will talk to them about your professional interests and career expectations, clarify details of your education and work experience and try to find out whether you match the job and the team. This is also your opportunity to find out more about your future job role, work environment and ABB as an employer.

4. Further interviews

Further interviews consist of in-depth discussions about your (technical) competencies and possible future assignements. We also negotiate details of your employment contract.

After the interview, we will give you feedback within a reasonable time frame.

5. Job offer acceptance

You are the best candidate for the job – congratulations!

We draw up the employment contract according to the agreed conditions. As soon as you have signed the contract along with the ABB Group Code of Conduct, you are officially a member of the ABB-family.

6. Welcome to ABB

Before taking up work, you will receive onboarding material to help you with a smooth smart. During the first months, you will acquire the necessary skills in an individual on-the-job training program. Furthermore, you will participate in "Join ABB", our training for new employees, where you will learn more about ABB and our ways of working. You will also meet new co-workers and contact persons for various topics like talent management or occupational health and safety.
