Safe connection between drive and PLC can be established using PROFIsafe or CIP safety protocols. This is enabled using optional safety functions modules.

Ecodesign directive

There is rapidly growing demand worldwide for more efficient products to cut energy consumption, reduce emissions and help to build a more sustainable future. The Ecodesign regulation (EU) 2019/1781 is an effective way to improve the environmental performance of products by setting minimum energy efficiency requirements for low voltage induction motors and variable speed drives.

Direct Torque Control (DTC)

Variable-speed drives have enabled unprecedented performance in electric motors and delivered dramatic energy savings by matching motor speed and torque to actual requirements of the driven load.

Harmonics

Harmonics pollute the electrical network and make equipment connected to it behave erratically. Harmonics can cause damage to sensitive electronics, interference in communication equipment, and false readings on measurement devices. Harmonics can trip circuit breakers, blow fuses and cause capacitor failures.
