ABB Formula E championship hits the beach in Punta del Este, Uruguay
For the sixth race of the current season, Formula E returns to Punta del Este, on the southeastern peninsula of Uruguay. The all-electric street race will take place on March 17 along the picturesque Playa Brava Beach for the 2018 CBMM Niobium Punta del Este E-Prix. The 2.785km circuit, with 20 turns, hugs the sun-drenched coast before doubling back on itself. Sebastien Buemi, a two-time winner of the Punta del Este race says, “It’s the most unique track. It’s a very high-speed circuit, which I enjoy."
Marking the halfway point in the season, the teams and drivers will be looking to make an impact going into the second half of the season. After this race the series moves on to Europe, with the next race in Rome, Italy, on April 14.
