You as a Site Manager will be a part of the Power Grids division which is a global leader in turnkey power projects and will be based in Dubai, UAE. The power grids division delivers solutions across the power value chain. This includes system solutions for power generation, transmission technologies, substations and distribution technologies for network management. Grid Integration delivers stations, system solutions and service for transmission and distribution facilities. The market is driven by the need to create stable electricity grids and for environmental reasons with the aim of increasing the use of renewable energy. We design and build reliable stations both indoors and outdoors. The Position holder, Site Manager, will lead all on-site activities for large/complex project site work to assure cost-effective execution of project deliverables in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements during the start-up, construction and/or erection, commissioning, maintenance phases.


Your main responsibilities will include:-

1. Accountable for timely completion of all milestone access dates during various site operation phase as per base line schedule and with zero Cost of Poor Quality.

2. Ensuring timely and accident free completion of the Project in accordance with ABB/Client Quality requirements. Serves as a project representative by building and maintaining effective relationships with customers as well as other local organizations such as authorities, banks, and suppliers to ensure their active support of field activities.

3. Have the overall responsibility for the H.S.E. in his area.

4. Have the overall responsibility for managing all construction activities at site, in compliance with the Project Quality plan, Client requirements, and Project specifications, approved Drawings, Site Procedures and as per instructions received from the Construction Manager.

5. Manage and monitor the Civil works sub-contractor on site to ensure timely completion of the works in accordance with the Project Schedule.

6. Ensure that the Site H.S.E. program is in place in all the areas (including temporary facilities).

7. Ensure that the Project Quality Plan is implemented and all Quality Control procedures and documentation are properly maintained.

8. Coordinate schedules so that resources and materials are available to promote efficient and timely completion of the Project.

9. Keep a constant check on all trades, resources overseeing workmanship and materials.

10. Preparation and submission of Inspection Requests to the Consultant/Employer’s Engineer.

11. Preparation of Daily Reports, Weekly Reports and any other such reporting as may be required.

12. Coordinate various Subcontractors at points of interface and determine works priorities.

13. Conduct the job site coordination and chair the related site meetings as required.

14. Prepare the agenda for the weekly meeting with the Site Stakeholders and Subcontractors, lead the meetings, give the priorities for the next week, and impose corrective actions.

15. Coordinate site operation efforts with Project manager,Field Operations Manager, Construction Site Manager, Site Supervisors and HSE manager, as well as Client representatives on the job-site.

16. Provide guidance, assistance and advice to the Subcontractors.

17. Coordinate with Lead Engineer Project Manager to ensure that all information viz. Drawings, Material approvals, etc. are made available to the Sub-contractors on time to ensure timely completion of the works.

18. Attend the Safety meetings with the Subcontractors.

19. Quality assurance and control at site for design documentations, material submissions and all construction related inspections.

20. Responsible for continuous tracking of time schedule and milestones for various access dates agreed in the base line schedule with weighted of %age of work completion.

21. Responsible for completion of site works with zero snags.


Ideally you should have bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualifications in Electrical or Construction Engineering with 10-15 years of work experience as Site Manager on similar projects experience with Projects of different size, complexity and contractual types. Familiarity with ADWEA / Transco / FEWA / DEWA / SEWA Specifications is a plus. Knowledge on MS-Office, MS-Project, Primavera along with knowledge of Electrical substations is required.
