You as a HBU Controller will be a part of the Power Grids division ( Grid Integration Business Unit) which is a global leader in power projects and will be based in Dubai, UAE. The Power Grids division delivers solutions across the power value chain. This includes system solutions for power generation, transmission technologies, substations and distribution technologies for network management. You will be the Senior Business Controller in the HUB and act as a business partner to the HUB Manager and develop a business model and optimize financial performance within HUB PGGI MEA across the LPGs in the different countries. Support effective business decisions by monitoring, analyzing, and interpreting financial data in order to evaluate various business alternatives and recommend the most appropriate business solutions. Drive definition and implementation of standards and business specific guidelines in the financial control processed.

Tasks:

Your main responsibilities will include:-

1. Strategy
• Contribute to the definition of the strategy in the HUB.
• Serve as the key partner for the relevant business leader in determining strategy for area of responsibility and developing a HUB business model, aligning with wider strategy, implementing, and making adjustments in implementation as needed both within the HUB and different LPGs.
• Maintain contact with relevant managers and controller regarding financial, market and customer situation and outlook.

2. Business planning and forecasting
• Translate strategy into business plans and establish measurable targets.
• Oversee the business planning and forecasting process for the area of responsibility and serve as the interface to BU/GPG Controller, Country CFO, and other important finance stakeholders.

3. Business performance
• Monitor progress achieved and provides insight and analysis to support operational decision making.
• Identify issues and advise management on the action plans and operational strategies to resolve issues.
• Drive appropriate cost structure, productivity optimization and capital efficiency.

4. Risk management
• Assess business risk exposure and defines risk mitigation strategies to reduce impact on business performance.
• Ensure local risk management process is in place and implemented and that a proper governance process is implemented and audited.
• Identify and communicate commercial and financial risks and opportunities form business propositions.

5. Optimization
• Lead cross functional initiatives that support strategic goals.
• Drive definition and implementation of global standards and business specific guidelines to ensure continuous improvements in the financial control process within own area of responsibility.

6. Communication and knowledge sharing
• Lead, provide guidance and facilities best practices sharing between LPG and Project controllers within the financial community.
• Ensure timely and efficient communications with relevant stakeholders.

7. Internal control and compliance

• Ensure transparency in financial reporting and disclosures.
• Define and implement internal controls regarding financial and none financial operations. Ensure compliance with corporate, DIV and BU standards and support external and internal audits. Sign of Assurance letter for the area of responsibility.
• Ensure governance implementation is done in each LPG and follow up on the process.

8. Financial reporting

• Establish and oversee the processes and tools necessary to obtain transparent and reliable financial data and business information.
• Ensure side reporting are done on time and with high quality and that Data in Abacus are reconciled with the local ERP system.

9. People leadership and development
• Ensure that the area of responsibility is organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guide, motivate and develop direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies.

Requirements:

Ideally you should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or similar with at least 10 years’ experience in business controlling mainly focusing in project business. Furthermore, you should have a good knowledge of SAP and advanced knowledge of MS office tools. Good managing and communication skills with fluency in English is required.
