You as a Senior Engineer - Bids & Proposals, you will be part of the Industrial Automation Division and Measurement & Analytics Business Units (BU) based in UAE.
As a Senior Engineer - Bids & Proposals you will be responsible to create and complete winning bids,estimations or quotations based on customer specification, customer requirements or budget to achieve both market competitiveness and high margin of IAMA sales strategy for UAE & Oversight Countries to achieve both qualitative and quantitative targets for products, systems in a profitable way. You will also be responsible to maintain and improve the balance between all ABB units and customers that are present in the area of responsibility.
Your tasks as a Senior Engineer - Bids & Proposals will include the following:
1.Target: Formulate competitive bids or estimates or quotations, taking into account best available product mix and appropriate technical and commercial considerations for each individual situation. Ensure tenders are well documented in a timely manner and with appropriate level of detail, including full and accurate costs and abiding by all Local country or BU or Division & Group compliance and risk review guidelines
2.Preparation: Manage the preparation of all technical (e.g. defining the most suitable technology and product type(s), financial (e.g. total price sheet, cash flow analysis) and if necessary project management (e.g. quantifies hours of engineering and commissioning) aspects of the bid or estimate or quotation, indicating prices and trading conditions and maintains all price back up of estimation from 3rd party vendors and ABB factories.
3.Coordination: In accordance with bid or estimate or quotation planning, ensures that inputs for editing activities are provided on time and according to established quality procedures. Coordinate with field engineer sales and INOPC (to support bid or estimation preparation such as 3rd party quotes, risk review and necessary approvals.
4.Documentation: Collect, process to order handling and archives documentation regarding the offer or order and records assumptions and decisions taken during the development process. Regularly report the status of the bids or estimates or quotations and time and effort spent using defined tools and collect and analyze the reasons for tenders being lost and won.
5.Risk: Identify potential risks in the bids, quotations and estimates, and in any related contract agreements across customers or channels. Provide information and participate in the risk review process in accordance with ABB policy.
6.Information coordination: Responsible for collecting and collating all information needed to prepare the proposal, including both technical and cost elements.
7.Customer relations: Establish and maintains effective customer relationships to understand customer needs. Ensure a positive customer experience throughout the sales process. Provide any necessary technical support to Sales Managers during technical meetings with customers.
8.Supplier selection: Identify potential vendors for equipment and materials required in the project and technically evaluates supplier offers to check match with specifications. Collaborate with supply chain management to coordinate requests to subcontractors.
Ideally you should have an Engineering degree in Electrical or Instrumentation with 8 to 10 years of experience in Bids and Proposals.
