The candidate, reporting to the General Manager, will act as a business partner and will be instrumental in analyzing and driving forward the growth and improvement of the factory. The Factory Controller will develop and maintain planning, budgeting and reporting systems and communicate findings and specific recommendations to the local and regional/HUB management team. Factory Controller will supervise project analysis and work closely with the Plant’s Management team.”

• Partner with the local Varennes factory operations team to manage the financial operations of the business
• Key contributor to improve productivity, efficiency and profitability of the business
• Reinforcing the leadership direction through timely and consistent communication support of the strategy, goals, and financial situation
• The successful candidate will be results oriented and a team player who can see the big picture, yet focus on details and timeliness
• The candidate will play an active role in the development of short and long term strategy and participate with the management team to develop strategic plans, annual budget, and weekly forecast plans to profitably grow the business.

Responsibilities will include:
• The candidate will be responsible for all reporting aspects, including Orders, P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and Net Working Capital. Reporting will include both functional and internal reporting and includes oversight of detailed forecasting.
• Ensure accurate financial results and adherence to GAAP, IFRS and ABB Accounting Rules & Guidelines
• Coaching the management team in financial areas with emphasis on achievement of financial goals
• Providing management with timely accurate financial reporting and analysis, including budgets and forecasts, and further develop and utilize tools to improve the management process
• Improved execution through strong organizational alignment
• Driving project reviews ensuring issues / risks are identified and action plans developed and followed to address risks
• Review Customer Proposals and participate in Global Risk Reviews to ensure accurate representation of project costs, risks, and profitability
• Manage and closely monitor the business unit’s cash flow, overdue AR, continuously improve working capital management.
• Acts as consultant to various functional areas of the business with regard to financial issues.
• Bench mark with other product groups / business units / divisions to enhance the effectiveness of the department and this position.
• Monitoring and implementing changes to Table of Authority and/or Full Cost Model (FCM)

HR and Organization development
The candidate will be responsible for the management, development and optimization of one or more financial analysts


• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or equivalent)
• At least 10 years controlling and accounting experience (or equivalent) in multi-function units or Multinational company including 5-8 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in project reviews and complex cost-plus projects is an asset
• Knowledge of US GAAP, SAP, Excel and PowerPoint
• Data driven, analytical approach to problem solving leading to systemic improvements and lasting results. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and develop people as well as drive process improvement is an advantage.
• Impeccable integrity; Superior interpersonal skills; able to communicate and engage personnel at all levels of the organization.
• Strong conceptual and analytical skills
• Fluent in French & English, written and spoken
• Self-motivated, goal oriented and success driven
