Under the direct supervision of the Engineering Manager, the Electrical Designer would carry out activities relating to electric design of distribution transformers in the Quebec plant.

• Issue data sheets, complete electric calculations, prepare specifications for winding.
• Go through the required steps for the approval of the initial coil-core samples for each new model. Help to solve problems arising during production, make engineering changes if necessary.
• Update every document produced such as data sheets, calculations, specifications, lists.
• For each submission, identify the reference model, verify the accuracy of technical data and update them.
• Take part in various technical committees related to those activities. Aware of trends and new things in his field of expertise.
• Find solutions to customers' complaints. Provide a follow-up and the implementation of corrective actions.
• Write technical reports if necessary.
• Take part in or initiate the elaboration of new procedures, manufacturing processes, purchasing of new equipment for the plant. Improve product with research and development activities.
• According to his field of jurisdiction and his skills, perform any other duties not specifically set out in this job description but required by his immediate superior.


• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
• Bilingual (spoken and written, French and English)
• 2-4 years of experience in a similar job
• Must be a member of the OIQ
• Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point) of intermediate to advanced level
• Knowledge of SAP, Access and Outlook
• Abilities in communication, dynamic, teamwork and leadership
