Tasks:

Reporting to the Department Head, Technical Services, the Technical Services Supervisor will work in our factory of St-Jean-sur-Richelieu. He will act as an agent of change and will exercise his leadership in an evolving environment while contributing to the achievement of the department’s objectives regarding health & safety, quality, and productivity.

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for managing the activities of a team of unionized employees composed of mechanics, electromechanical technicians, electrical technicians and tool makers and machinists, this in compliance with the policies of the company. To do so, the Supervisor plays an active role in the supervision and follow-up of activities in connection with corrective and preventive maintenance of equipment and dies of the factory. The Supervisor coordinates activities with other services. He shall also enforce some of the collective agreement clauses, in addition to managing the work attendance of his team. He is a reference with respect to health and safety, and shall ensure compliance with these standards.

We are looking for a candidate having communication skills to motivate and empower his team and employees.

• Provide the required support to answer properly to the daily health and safety requests.
• Plan, control, supervise, organize and improve the different production activities
• Act as a leader in health and safety management.
• Provide the support required to meet the daily demands regarding health and safety.
• Improve the preventive maintenance processes and systems in order to meet the associated objectives.
• Improve processes and systems in connection with manufacturing and die management.
• Support the daily manufacturing operations (problem solving, technical coaching).
• Participate in the management of continuous improvement projects.
• Leadership and ability to influence the team members
• Ability to make timely decisions to deliver the expected results
• Ability to create and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
• Autonomy, organization skills, ability to manage several priorities and projects
• Ability to manager personnel as an agent of change having managerial skills

Requirements:

• Vocational diploma or college diploma (DEC) in industrial mechanics or another discipline related to industrial maintenance
• At least 5 years of experience as a supervisor of a maintenance department
• Knowledge of GMAO maintenance management system (an asset)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, TPM, SMED and Six Sigma
• Bilingualism (English, French)
