Under the supervision of the Operation Manager and working closely with the Supply Chain Manager (located in Varennes), the inventory planner is part of the procurement team coordinating procurement activities related to the all production needs. He provides support to operations and is expected to work closely with stakeholders to improve the sector's productivity. He has to oversee raw material inventory, maintain and optimize local ERP or MRP systems. He is also called upon to assume various planning and purchasing support functions.

• Maintain and analyze inventory parameters in the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning)
• Oversee raw material inventory parameters, including safety stock, reorder point, lot size, lead-time.
• Collaborate with buyer and commodity managers to obtain the best possible supplier performance in terms of supplier on-time delivery, quality, lead-time and flexibility.
• Manage inventory control through the MRP (Materials Resource Planning)
• Create and maintain structure of project in SAP (BOM).
• Support cycle counting and/or year-end inventory counting.
• Analyze and take appropriate actions to optimize inventory performance excess
• Work closely with product engineering, marketing, manufacturing and supply chain management (SCM).
• Ensure efficient translation of purchase requisitions into purchase orders.
• Support production scheduling, updating and maintaining planning tools through material availability
• Perform gap analysis and assure alignment between forecasted level of orders and capacity
• Monitor WIP inventory, recommends rationalization initiatives and follow inventory checkbook (ICBK).
• Identify root cause deviations from production plan and implements corrective initiatives
• Perform follow-ups with the suppliers and update deliveries or reception dates.
• Seek for transport logistics in a context of just-in-time deliveries.
• Maintain and validate the department's monthly reports and performance indicators.
• Perform order verification and supplier invoice coding.
• Assist planning, quality, product engineering, payables and other departments to resolve vendor issues.
• Support and participate to various strategic issues in collaboration with the SCM.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and inventory control.
• Lead various small projects to improve supply chain and manufacturing processes.
• Oversee and process supplier complaints non conformity issues (NCR).


• Bachelor's degree in operation management or in any relevant fields.
• Minimum of three years (3) years of experience in a procurement department
• Certificate from the Canadian Purchasing Management Association (an asset)
• Strong skills of purchasing processes in manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of the principles of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma (an asset);
• Demonstrated expertise on ERP Integrated Management Systems (MRP)
• Master the main computerized management systems and knowledge of SAP (an asset)
• Ability to maintain partnership relation with internal and external collaborators
• Work conscientiously with autonomy and great sense of organization
• Demonstrate strong teamwork skills, leadership and strong priority management capacity
• Bilingualism, spoken and written (English and French)
