In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of ABB’s customized software solutions within the global process industries. Working within international structures, you will contribute to a wide range of projects tailored to the specific requirements of the target markets. The Digital Solution Architect will craft a customer’s technical solution (i.e. data systems integration, cloud/on premise data solutions, software and applications), knit together ABB and third party solutions into a recognisable value proposition for our customers, digitalise and enhance our current consulting and software solutions to generate sustainable volume. They will work with international Customers and support ABB’s local business teams. The role will establish a trusted relationship with both our external customers and internal technical teams; they will need to understand customer needs and translate it into technical architecture based on ABB Ability (Digital) technical components. They will work with Product teams, BU/Division etc , Services and Sales teams to help drive Ability related sales and ensure a solid technical solution on related projects As part of ABBs digital strategy our team is developing the best digital tools in the industry. We deliver our services and solutions both locally and internationally through ABBs new Collaborative Operations Centres. The role will be key to defining the centre in the UK - providing process analytics, simulation solutions, cyber security, remote monitoring and operation, and management of process data. The successful candidate will have detailed understanding of IOT components for the OT environment from the sensor to plant to enterprise and cloud. Functions include testing and validation, SQL querying, data modelling including the use of machine learning and AI technology, analysis and reporting software. Business acumen is critical to the role; translating business drivers, customer requirements and a technical solution into a core value proposition for ABB’s customers. Tasks:

• Design appropriate systems and software architectures for process plants to enable use of data to improve efficiency and enable remote support/operations
• Develop secure interfaces between plant operating systems and performance improvement software applications (condition monitoring, remote support, smart worker systems, process performance indicators)
• Implement (install and commission) customized digital solutions including KPI Dashboards, multi system integration, workflow management, OT-IT convergence, mobile workforce (smart worker) systems
• Design on premise and in-cloud systems including but not limited to plant and equipment reliability modelling, process and energy optimization, visualisation of data from multiple plant systems.
• Lead and contribute to new product (software) development such as machine learning and AI technologies in key markets
• Work with global system architecture team to migrate local applications to a cloud based environment
• Analyse technical details of contracts and basic engineering requirements
• Customizing data communication interfaces to ERP systems and other systems
• Perform customer support, including resolution of requests relating to applications via remote connection
• Provide support for sales teams with regard to quotations and contribute to in-house and on-site training of customer engineers
• Development of software solutions to support existing Consulting offers in area’s such as (asset management) maintenance and reliability planning, safety and alarm systems, energy optimization and cyber security

Requirements:

Essential

• Expertise in Windows, product related knowledge with security devices, software, networking and virtualization
