The India Power Grids Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 900 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub within PG Division and HVDC and FACTS engineering center outside ABB Sweden. The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids division’s Power Up transformation program. The INOPC team at Chennai supports ABB units in more than 25 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Power Grid division. To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 60 countries.
Your responsibilities -
Tender & Bid Management System (TBMS) Support:
•User account creation and maintenance.
•System master data loading & maintenance (CBS, labour tariff rates).
•Provision of level-1 “how-to” super-user help-desk support.
•Know-how sharing & cross-collaboration.
•Communication of new features / updates / planned system down-time to users.
•Interface between business users and cube wise (Example - releases, outages, maintenance).
•Performing structured testing of TBMS system changes and new releases.
•Development of bespoke reports.
•(Future) Development of training materials, and training delivery.
•Living ABB’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.
•A Bachelor degree in Engineering or related discipline.
•3 to 5 years professional work experience in system support.
•IT or commercial background at university level or equivalent.
•Good written and spoken English.
•Experience with enterprise-wide database software / web / applications system usage, support or implementation team experience.
•Strong team worker.
•Strong communication skills.
•Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
•Proactive, Self-Motivated and Flexible.
