The Quality and Continuous Improvement Team (Q&CI) within the ABB-GBS HR group leads efforts to institutionalize process excellence culture and mindset along with delivering process re-engineering, performance management, optimization initiatives across HR function using continuous Improvement/Business Process Excellence (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) methodologies, concepts and principles. The team works closely with business stakeholders within HR Function to plan, design and implement the end-to-end re-engineering, performance management, Productivity drivers, optimization initiatives of identified and prioritized core global processes and bespoke local processes.

Your responsibilities

  • The Quality and Continuous Improvement Specialist role based out of Bangalore reporting to Manager Quality and Continuous Improvement will bring experience, skills, maturity and capabilities to fulfill the objectives and responsibilities outlined below.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • • Deliver Low to medium complex process re-engineering and simplification / standardization / optimization of processes resulting in a significant return on investment for the business
  • • Coordinate work effort in partnership with a team of local or remote SMEs (functional / operations) and Lean Six Sigma trained resources to support the delivery of projects
  • • Contribution to development of Process Excellence Community and culture through active involvement in a variety of workshops, forums and training sessions related to Lean Six Sigma and other Process Excellence concepts and practices
  • • Play the role of a change agent to help institutionalize Lean Six Sigma across the HR organization, constantly seeking, sharing & implementing best practices
  • • Coaching several LSS Yellow belt projects including sign off for accreditation purposes where appropriate
  • • Reporting proficiency to Track, measure, analyze and report out process performance management (KPI’s)and productivity

Your background

  • Qualifications
  • • Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from a reputed company in Continuous/Process Improvement related methods and tools
  • • Experience in Shared Services for a Global Company will be an added advantage preferably domain expertise on Human Resource (HR)
  • • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Operations / Finance/ Management/ Engineering; MBA is desirable Knowledge
  • • Expertise in process excellence / optimization disciplines / techniques including Lean / Six Sigma
  • • Experience with the usage of Statistical Software tools (Minitab) is a must
  • • Previous exposure with basic process automation tools (Macro etc.) are welcome
  • • Proficiency in usage of Microsoft office packages
  • Experience & Capabilities
  • • 8- 10 years of professional experience driving cross-functional and global process re-engineering and improvement initiatives (using lean six sigma principles and concepts) with demonstrable business results
  • • Proven experience coaching individuals through smaller scale continuous improvement projects (YB level) focused on lean six sigma methodology, structure and engagement
  • • Past experience of and confident in delivering Lean Six Sigma, kaizen or other process re-engineering training modules e.g., Lean Six Sigma (White and Yellow Belt) Basic level training
  • • Strong and open communicator using both verbal and written modes – shares ideas and experiences, actively involves people
  • • Demonstrated experience to facilitate, influence and lead projects, drive discussion remotely
  • • ‘Self-starter’ with the ability to conceptualize, communicate and solicit alignment and buy-in.
  • • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • • Strong critical thinking, Data analytical and problem-solving skills
  • • Reporting Proficiency in developing reports/dashboards and derive insights to management
