The Strategic Account Manager, has overall responsibility for the PETRONAS Malaysia business account including growth, profitability and customer satisfaction. The main task is to grow the customer’s sales for all divisions in the country, with profitability and customer satisfaction as key objectives. ABB Malaysia is part of the ABB Group, where we began more than a century ago when MFO Oerlikon installed the first power generator in 1904. Our business is currently consolidated under ABB Malaysia which was established in 1973 with our head office in Subang Jaya, Selangor Darul Ensan.


Reporting to the Country Managing Director, the key areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
• Participating in the development of sales strategies for accounts by providing the customer’s current business and long-term plans. Defining and proposing sales targets and growth margins for the account and ensures their achievement with a structured follow up process.
• Leading the development and implementation of the account plan to include designing the stakeholder relationship strategy and coverage plans, prioritizing the opportunities, identifying target projects. Proposing recovery plans in case of potential order shortfalls.
• Creating strategies with the customers to create new business opportunities to add value for the customer and ABB. Developing, maintaining and sharing detailed knowledge of the customer’s business strategy, purchasing behavior, organization, decision-makers, customer business drivers, economic trends, and competition.
• Monitoring competitors’ activity with each account and ensures that appropriate response strategies are formulated and implemented. Creating added value for the customer and ABB by ensuring a coordinated sales approach (e.g. frame agreements). Communicating details in accordance with ABB supply, offering and strategy.
• Coordinating the use of internal or external resources (e.g. technical, advertising, and marketing) in order to provide value added services to accounts.


Key requirements include :
• An engineering degree.
• Proven track record of more than 10 years’ experience in sales and/or account management preferable with ABB organization knowledge.
• Assertiveness and sales driven with excellent business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit.
• Excellent English skills. Highly adaptable, initiative, self-motivation and team player
