ABB is currently looking for an experienced Business Developer to lead the regions application engineering business development and sales of transformer intelligence portfolio. This will include developing and implementing regional sales strategies, monitoring devices, developing the digitalization trend and securing the anticipated growth. This role covers Asia Pacific, including China.

Tasks:

Key responsibilities include:

• Adapt and roll out the global sales strategy and business development plan to drive Sensor and Monitoring sales in the region
• Identify with local factories and Front End early adopters for Digital Power Transformers and make a plan for pilots, generating business
• Develop and implement KPI’s and targets to track sales, providing visibility of prospects, quotations and orders
• Accountable for the delivering of overall sales
• Leadership of the Sensor and Monitoring line-up along with Digital Power Transformers to drive sales growth
• Coaching and training sales teams/ factories on transformer monitoring and digital Power Transformers
• Develop marketing and sales tools, and material as relevant in coordination with the product manager
• Encourage innovation within sales teams to maximize service sales opportunities
• Secure the anticipated financial impact of the growth initiative
• Undertake regular follow up and tracking of growth plan implementation, launching proactive steps to mitigate slippage
• Participate at key tradeshows and customer events, present technical papers at international associations

Requirements:

Successful applicants will possess:

• BS degree (Electrical Engineering)
• 5 years plus years of relevant industry experience associated with transformer businesses
• Strong technical skills
• Marketing experience will be highly regarded, to be able to bridge the technical teams to the marketing teams
• Excellent networking skills matured in a highly international organization, “leading by influence”
• Change management experience is a strong plus
• Intercultural sensitivity is required, with good communication skills in oral and written, with colleagues from multi-countries for assigned region
• International experience will be highly regarded, with a strong grasp of the English language
• Be willing to travel > 60% of his / her time
