ABB is seeking a Senior Engineering Business Consultant for its Sugar Land, Texas location. This role is responsible for implementing electrical engineering solution strategies that optimally meet the business needs of electric utility customers, while minimizing deviations from the standard product.

Tasks:

Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Approve design deliverables and act as the technical lead for an engineering discipline with clients.

• Apply broad knowledge of principles and practices in own area of expertise and independently evaluate, select and adapt standard techniques and procedures.

• Prepare complete project documents in own area of expertise.

• Coordinate engineering in a discipline across several projects.

• Design and conduct experiments, analyze results and interpret data.

• Review analysis regarding performance indicators to ensure solutions are properly deployed to customers.

• Support sales and proposals on new business opportunities and projects.

• Demonstrate system functionality to customers using their deliverable hardware and software platforms.

• Provide training to end users on all system capabilities, both at factory and customer site.

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or related field and minimum of two (2) years of experience as Senior Business Consultant - OR-

• Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or related field and minimum of two (2) years of implementing and deploying real-time control systems for electric generation, transmission, or distribution utilities Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA, Energy Management Systems or Distribution Management Systems) OR

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or related field and a minimum of five (5) years of experience as Senior Business Consultant - OR -

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or related field and minimum of five (5) years of implementing and deploying real-time control systems for electric generation, transmission, or distribution utilities Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA, Energy Management Systems or Distribution Management Systems).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Power Engineering is preferred.

• Must have knowledge and expertise in power system load flow and short circuit analysis.

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in performing analysis of geospatial databases.

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in performing power system load flow and short circuit analysis.

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience conducting Oracle RDBMS analysis and PL/SQL development.

• Travel required approximately 50% of the time.
