ABB is seeking a Production Supervisor for its Senatobia, Mississippi location. This role is responsible for leading a team within a production unit or line in the execution of production processes to transform parts and raw materials into ABB products in a timely, cost-effective manner. Ensure continuous and efficient operation in accordance with volumes, schedules, procedures, drawings, and quality and safety standards and policies.

Tasks:

Manufactures products by supervising staff; organizing and monitoring work flow in a fast pace ever-changing dynamic environment. Candidate will also be responsible for providing materials, equipment, and supplies by directing receiving, warehousing, and distribution services; supervising small warehousing staff.

Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures with span of control up to 40- 45 direct reports.

• Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.

• Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.

• Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.

• Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.

• Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs.

• Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.

• Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change.

• Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established 5s policies and procedures.

• Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.

• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices.

• Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.

• Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.

• Responsible for maintaining payroll for all direct reports.

1st shift position will be Assembly focused
2nd shift position will be Assembly. Warehouse focused


Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree required and minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing/production environment in that 1 year of prior experience in demonstrating leadership skills or leading a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science with engineering discipline.

• Supervision, Coaching, Managing Processes, Process Improvement (with lean manufacturing background), Tracking Budget Expenses, Production Planning, Strategic Planning, Dealing with Complexity, and the ability to manage upward and downward, Proficient in Microsoft Office suites (Excel, etc.), proficient with MRP systems (SAP or Oracle) and strong verbal and written communication skills.
