Plan, direct, and support powder metal processes and personnel. Research and resolve production problems, establish and implement standard requirements for equipment, tooling, and methods. Determine best utilization of equipment, material, and personnel.

Your responsibilities

Thorough understanding of powder metallurgy principles

Knowledge of quality control and standard test methods for P/M

Working knowledge of mechanical compacting presses, sintering furnaces, and related equipment

Understanding of tool design for multi-platen presses and maintenance of press tooling

Ability to identify appropriate P/M opportunities and adapt existing part designs

Knowledge of P/M secondary operations

Provide engineering support to business/production unit

Develops, evaluates, designs and improves manufacturing methods, materials and tooling

Estimate production times and related costs to provide information for management decisions

Advise management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, and other considerations to facilitate production processes

Apply statistical methods to evaluate and improve process capability and estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential

Your background

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
OR
Master’s Degree in Engineering

*A Master’s Degree in required field = Credit given for 2 years of work experience.

*A PhD/Doctorate in required field = Credit given for 3 years of work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors’ Degree in Mechanical / Industrial/ Manufacturing Engineering

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public

Work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry

Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Knowledge of Auto-Cad, Pro-E, or Solid-Works design software, Word Processing, Spreadsheet and Project Management software
