ABB is seeking an Intern who is responsible for providing support to the Senior Quality & OpEx Manager and will support the on-going BU Packaging Initiative.

Tasks:

Typical duties/responsibilities may include but are not limited to, the following:
– Assists Senior Quality & OpEx Mgr. with analysis of corrugate, pallet and packaging specifications.
– Act as liaison between Corrugate Suppliers and site procurement / engineering managers regarding material specification enhancements, costing and certifications.
– Create and maintain corrugate and pallet drawing / specification database
– Provide support to the Senior Quality & OpEx Manager.
– Creates documentation of packaging standards for packaging materials
– Review current packaging designs and assist in enhancements to promote product protection and cost reduction
– Analyze pack quantities versus sales and make recommendations to improve warehouse picking efficiency

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:
– Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s or Master's Degree program
– At least 2+ years college coursework completed
Preferred Qualifications:
– Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Engineering Management, Supply Chain Management, Inventory Management, Operations Management, Purchasing or Logistics
– Strong grasp of purchasing practices and supply chain management practices
– Strong analytical communication and interpersonal skills
– Working on a major that includes a background in economics or mathematics
– Self-motivational qualities, project management skills
– Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
– Candidates with work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.


Additional information

This internship is 4 months long and is based out of our Memphis office with a minimum of 15 hours per week
