Mission Statement: Under supervision, perform a variety of semi-technical assignments such as, assembly, operation and shop maintenance, laboratory equipment, instrumentation and controls, shipping and receiving. Coordinate work with other ABB employees to ensure customer commitments.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform semi-technical work on development and production projects, integrating requirements with own understanding of the complete project. Construct component models, as requested.
Conduct tests or experiments requiring selection and adaptation or modification of equipment and products, and record data. May perform basic analyses to check reasonableness, prepare test reports and maintain records.
Troubleshoot equipment and apply own knowledge and experience towards the solution of any problems, such as types of repairs or modifications required.
May work nonstandard schedules and/or at off-site locations with exposure to varying environmental conditions.
Under general supervision, prepare domestic and international shipments of materials, parts, finished goods and related items. Check items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination and routings are correct.
Some projects/orders will need custom crate construction.
Shipping duties will include the use of a forklift for loading and unloading tractor trailers.
All duties will be performed following ABB’s safety procedures and using the proper PPE.
High School Diploma or GED and 5 years' combination experience in shipping and/or production
Associates' degree and 3 years' combination experience in shipping and/or production
Bachelors' degree and 1 year combination experience in shipping and/or production
2 + years of electrical/mechanical experience
Good understanding of electrical schematics and ability to read mechanical drawings.
Light to medium proficiency in 2D & 3D CAD
Ability to use shop tools, such as screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, drill press, soldering iron, hydraulic press, cleaning solvents forklift and overhead crane operation.
Ability to do prototype electrical wiring with good soldering capabilities.
Computer proficiency and knowledge of PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
Good verbal and writing ability is necessary for internal communication.
Good organizational skills with multi-tasking ability.
