Basic Function: Facilities encompasses the facilities management, planning, co-ordination, maintenance and associated operations involving equipment, grounds and structures.

Under general guidance, perform duties that involve or relate to such functions as planning, construction, maintenance, and inventory control of facilities and equipment including IT infrastructure. Make recommendations to improve effectiveness of the group and increase customer satisfaction.

Your responsibilities

Typical duties/responsibilities for operations may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Obtain information from various sources such as managers, engineers and planners. Estimate requirements considering projected utilization, function, performance, costs and safety to assist senior staff in reaching conclusions. Prepare specifications and documents in accordance with requirements, established formats and specific instructions. Maintain and update drawings and project files. Remote site maintenance to include commissioning, moving, or decommissioning. Remote site utility setup, decommissioning. Environmental impact reduction planning. IS/IT site upgrades and decommissioning is part of the position.

Conduct relatively straight-forward analyses and tests. Participate in the investigation of technical problems and provide information and report on findings.

Evaluate such matters as equipment utilization, workflow, and unique requirements related to specific orders. Prepare layouts of equipment, workspace and storage facilities, for maximum effectiveness, as applicable.

Assist senior coordinators by performing segments of more complex projects, in accordance with specific instructions.

Complexity of Tasks: Duties require general understanding of manufacturing and related processes and application of standard practices, concepts and techniques. Errors or failure to take appropriate actions may result in delays and additional costs. Work is typically reviewed to ensure quality.

Your background

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree

*A Master’s Degree in required field = Credit given for 2 years of work experience.
*A PhD/Doctorate in required field = Credit given for 3 years of work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Autocad experience

Project management experience

IS/IT skills
.
General knowledge of HVAC, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and exhaust systems.

Ability to work with minimal supervision.

A take charge attitude and skillset

SAP or Eprocurement experience

Ability to interface with contractors, trades, and management.

Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the U.S.

Some travel is required
