ISM’s mandate is to understand the industry trends, develop strategy & business plans based on industry drivers and educate the sales on industry needs & approaches ISM to ensure the targeted orders / growth is met with projects & opportunities tracking, driving Spec & influence & AVL (approved vendor list) needs, identifies account management needs and frame agreement prospects.

Tehtävät :

Strategy: Understands the key business drivers of the segment and the business environment and interprets the impacts and opportunity for ABB. Develops segments sales strategies (in conjunction with BUs / PGs) by providing the industry trends and drivers. Derives business plans incorporating short and long term plans. Leads the development and implementation of the segment plans and growth actions.

Targets: Defines and proposes sales targets for the segment and ensures their achievement with a structured follow up process across BUs / PGs and LSUs. Monitors the progress on targets and plans, and publishes quarterly reports showing the status.

Sales: Creates target projects list and ensures a coordinated sales approach (e.g. frame agreements, spec & influence, ensuring ABB solutions sufficiently approved in customers vendor list, products & price positioning). Creates added value for the customer ensuring optimal solutions. Supports on front end sales. Coordinates with GAMs & SAMs, OEM teams and the segment business through Channel partners.

Market knowledge: Monitors and shares the market trends, customer investments (end user projects). Gives inputs on product needs & gaps, market price developments and competitors’ activities. Provides inputs for Marketing and MarCom plans.

Processes & tools: Drives application of standardized M&S processes & tools (Salesforce, account plans, AVLs etc) for the segment


- Degree in Engineering; Business Administration also valued
- At least 10 years’ marketing or sales experience within an international business environment, preferably in multinational companies. Professional marketing skills - being able to secure efficient marketing mix
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in the segment, selling / buying / using / specifying automation solutions
- Strategic thinking
- Determination and persistence
- Excellent leadership, social and communication skills – must be able to quickly develop a network in ABB
- Ability to work across BUs/PGs and sales units, understanding the differences and leveraging the synergies
- General understanding of motors, drives, motion control and robotics solutions for the industry.
- Excellent spoken and written English; other languages also appreciated
- At least 50% travelling
