A state of the art school

Zukowo school in Poland is one of the few public educational institutes in the country that has advanced building automation capabilities like this one.  To create the most productive and comfortable learning conditions, a school needs to have optimal lighting and temperature control.

Each room in the school is equipped with an automated air conditioning control system, enabling optimal conditions during classes according to the school timetable. Consequently, participation in class is greater. The following three temperature modes will be set in classrooms: comfort, holiday and anti-freeze. These modes will be activated depending on the classes scheduled and weather conditions.

Intelligent and energy efficient communal areas

All rooms and passageways feature the best quality presence detectors, which will activate the appropriate lighting upon detecting movement in the building, providing an energy efficient solution. When windows or doors are opened somewhere, the heating will switch off or the heat delivery from the central heating system will be reduced. The ABB i-bus® KNX system also controls the lights in the sports hall. The outside lighting of the school’s grounds and the facade is controlled by an astronomical clock, which connects via the KNX system and ‘operates’ the lighting.
