New technical data sheets for Bentonite earth electrode backfill and Denso tape
Here at Furse, we are constantly updating technical information to aid installers that are using our products within conductor and earth termination networks. This month, we have released two new Technical Data Sheets for our Bentonite earth electrode backfill and Denso tape.
Bentonite earth electrode backfill
Bentonite is an absorbent, moisture retaining clay used for lowering resistance to earth. When the powder is mixed with water, it swells to many times its dry volume. This enables moisture to be absorbed from the surrounding soil (e.g. rainfall), solving any soil to earth rod contact problems.
It is super absorbent, non-corrosive and cost-effective when compared with cement-based solutions.
Denso tape
Denso is a cold applied wrap tape which remains plastic across a wide range of temperatures, offering ideal protection for underground conductor joints. It is made from non-woven synthetic fibre, saturated and coated with a neutral compound, based on petroleum hydrocarbons (Petrolatum) and inert siliceous fillers.
It is highly impermeable, completely waterproof and easily applicable by hand to most surfaces in both arctic and tropical climates.
