A timer is a practical supplement for the twilight switch. The garden lighting can be switched off for a period of time during the night via the timer. Example: The lighting in the summer switches on around 10 p.m. in the evening or around 5 p.m. in the winter and would be on up to 6 a.m. or 8 a.m. in the morning. It is not really practical to leave the lighting on during the middle of the night. That is why the garden lighting, which has been switched on via a twilight switch, can be switched off between midnight and 4 a.m. via a timer.
Possible areas for application, for example, are exterior lighting on multifamily homes, showcase lighting, illuminated banners on commercial buildings or halogen floodlights on industrial complexes.
