New RCBO range standard and Type F ABB SMISSLINE TP Plug-in Distribution System

With the RCBO switches of the series FS401 and FS403, ABB offers a new generation for the plug-in distribution system SMISSLINE TP.

SMISSLINE TP- Touch-proof power distribution: Safe under voltage

The plug-in system SMISSLINE TP utilizes its strengths everywhere where a quick exchange, easy expandability, mixed pole arrangement or a high level of standardization is required for the devices. And generally in all segments, in which high costs can arise during downtime.

New series of RCBO range ABB SMISSLINE

The requirements for residual current circuit breakers (RCDs) has steadily increased in the last decades after the technological development and the massive introduction of electronics in all areas of application. Accordingly, ABB is expanding the SMISSLINE range with the new RCBO range, which combines a short-term delay and the advantages of a type F RCD in a single device. This results in an improved protection for high-frequency currents up to 1 kHz.

With the protection solution of the residual current protection class type F an enhanced protection can be carried out for detecting mixed frequency currents of up to 1 kHz and an increased direct current component up to 10 mA dc in modern facilities. With this, there is a better detection of smooth direct currents and thus a high level of system availability.

3LN RCBO range FS403 new also short-time delayed Type F

In case of 4-pole RCBO, there will also be a new short-time delay Version Type F in the assortment. This corresponds to an often-cited customer request. In addition to the 30mA variant, there will be also a 300mA range from summer 2017.

Advanced, new series for the LN RCBO Switch FS40

With the 2-pole RCBO, there is a complete change of the entire series towards a new generation with thermoplastic plastic and designation labels, as we already know from the series FS403 and the line circuit breaker S400. There is now a continuous series with the switching capacity of 10kA according to EN/IEC 61009-1 up to and with 32A rated current. Of course also for the 2-pole FI/LS switches of the series, the short-time delayed series are integrated with the RCD part according to type F. The existing auxiliary and signal contacts of the SMISSLINE series can be reused on the devices.

The Highlights in summary:

  • Rated current of 6 A to 32 A new continuous with 10 kA according to EN 61009-1
  • New improved two-tier terminal
  • Short-time delayed new version is also suitable for the detection of mixed frequencies up to 1 kHz, Type F
  • Contact switching position indicator for all devices (6 kA and 10 kA versions)
  • Better labeling options using labeling flap
  • Compatible with existing accessories
  • Change of material from thermosetting newly to thermoplastic
  • Individual packaging for all 2-pole RCBO
