Update for 2021/12

ABB low-voltage products are classified in four different product phases. These are outlined in the picture on the right, for your ease of knowledge.

Breakers & Enclosures

i.  ACBs

• Emax new DC circuit breakers are now in the classic stage.
• Emax new DC ML last time buy date set for April 2022.
• EntelliGuard G UL489B switch disconnectors are now in the limited stage, and will become 
obsolete starting 2023. The last time buy date is set for December 2022.
• EntelliGuard G UL489 and UL1066 (all types) last time buy date are set for December 2022. 
• Emax new X1L and X1B/E versions last time buy ate are set for December 2022.

ii. MCCBs

• We would like to remind you that Tmax T4-T5-T6-T7 are moved to classic phase from 
January 2022
• Ekip Led Meter, will be enter in classic phase from January 2022, Limited from June 2022 
with a last buy opportunity in September 2022 with delivery within end of 2022 
• The accessories Ekip Display, Ekip COM Modbus 485, are going to transition to classic 
phase in January 2022
• The trip units Ekip E-LSIG for XT4 and Ekip M-LRIU for XT2 and XT4 will become classic from 
January 2022, the Ekip N-LS/I available on XT2 and XT4 will be obsoleted with a last buy 
opportunity in September 2022
• The Tmax trip unit PR223DS / PR223EF available for T4-T5-T6 are going to become classic 
and will be obsoleted within the end of 2022 
• T6VF is entering in limited phase and the last buy is set for June 2022
• The special version of T1-T3 for ENEL Utility are limited and will be delivered only for 
ongoing projects and will be obsoleted by the end of 2022 

iii. Power Enclosures

• IS2 Assembled version and Kit version: will become Classic in January 2022 and limited in 
July 2023.
• TriLine power module and TriLine R: will become Classic in January 2022 and Limited in 
January 2023
• RUIS2: will become Classic in June 2023 and Limited in September 2024
• ArTu PB: will become Classic in March 2023 and Limited in January 2024

iv. Systems & Connectivity

• Ekip Control Panel and Ekip View Software will change to Limited phase on Jan.2021 and will 
be available for sales up to end of Dec.2021

 

Motor Starting & Safety

i. Electronic Relays and Controls

• CP-S.1 24 V DC power supplies become ACTIVE
• CM-TCN temperature monitoring relays with display, NFC and Modbus RTU become ACTIVE
• CR-M 10A/12A High current sockets become ACTIVE

ii. Safety Products

• Spot10 will change to OBSOLETE phase from January 2022.
• Pluto D20 HE will change to LIMITED phase from January 2022.

iii. Pilot Devices

• Compact L-mark will change to OBSOLETE phase from January 2022.
• Legend plates with identifier "Legend plates special 3" will change to CLASSIC phase in 
January 2022
• KA3 filament bulbs will change to CLASSIC phase in January 2022
Modular pilot devices with identifier "MP special", "MP special 3", "MSS special", "MSS special 
grey", "MTS assembly", "MPD special", "MPET special", "ML special" will change to LIMITED 
phase in January 2022
• Accessories with identifier "KTC special" will change to LIMITED phase in January 2022
• Compact pilot devices with identifier "CL9", "CP special" will change to LIMITED phase in 
January 2022
• Modular pilot devices with identifier "MPM chrome plastic", "MP L-mark", "MSSV special", 
"MPD special 3" will change to OBSOLETE phase in January 2022
• Compact pilot devices with identifier "CP special 3", "CSS special 3" will change to 
OBSOLETE phase in January 2022
• Accessories with identifiers "Legend plates special" will change to OBSOLETE in January
2022
• Enclosure MEPY-1002 will change to OBSOLETE phase in January 2022
• Neon bulb 5912019-3 and sealing ring SK1700182 will change to OBSOLETE phase in January 
2022

iv. Contactors 

• AF9-LU … AF80-LU contactors become ACTIVE in January 2022 
• AF9 … AF26 contactors with spring connection for rolling stock applications including 
accessories will change to CLASSIC phase by January 2022
• Accessory for Push-In contactors BEA16-4KF & BEA38-4KF enter ACTIVE phase in January 
2022, replacing previous version 4K1, which will enter CLASSIC phase 
• Accessory for standard AF contactors LK96-4F (terminal for control lead connections) enter 
ACTIVE phase in January 2022
• A9(L)… A40(L) … A75 contactors and N(L) contactor relays will change to LIMITED phase in 
July 2022 
• A95 … A300 contactors including accessories will change to LIMITED phase in July 2022 
• AF95... AF300 contactors entered OBSOLETE phase in January 2022 (Including B and B…RT 
versions, except AF95B(RT))
• A95FP … A110 FP for fire pump applications, entered OBSOLETE phase in January 2022
• GA75, GAE75 contactors will change to CLASSIC phase in January 2023
• GAF185 … GAF300 will change to CLASSIC phase in January 2023
• EK110 … EK370 will change to OBSOLETE phase in January 2022
• EH550 … EH1200 will change to OBSOLETE phase in January 2022
• EHDB selected coils will change to LIMITED phase in January 2022
• E45DU, E80DU and E140DU Electronic Overload Relays (including relevant accessories) will 
change from LIMITED to OBSOLETE phase from January 2024, last buy date: 30.09.2022
• TA25DU, TA42DU, TA75DU, TA80DU and TA110DU Thermal Overload Relays will change from 
LIMITED to OBSOLETE phase from January 2024, last buy date: 30.09.2022
• TA25DU-TC20, TA42DU-TC20, TA75DU-TC20 and TA80DU-TC20 Thermal Overload Relays 
with Trip Class 20 will change to LIMITED to OBSOLETE phase from January 2024, last buy 
date: 30.09.2022

v. Mini contactors 

• B mini contactors with identifier “Group 1” will change to CLASSIC phase by January 2022 
and LIMITED phase by July 2022 
• B mini contactors with identifier “Group 2” will change to CLASSIC phase by January 2022 
and LIMITED phase by January 2023 
• B mini contactors with identifier “Group 3” will change to CLASSIC phase by January 2023
vi. Limit Switches
• Selected limit switches including accessories will change to LIMITED phase in January 2022 
vii. Manual Motor Starters
• MS49x will move to OBSOLETE phase from January 2023, last buy date: 31.03.2022
• CK-11 signaling contact for MS325 will change to OBSOLETE with immediate effect

 
 

NEMA Enclosed products

• ADS fusible power panels are planned to be phased out of production during 2024. A 
replacement / comparable product is planned for launch to replace.
• Spectra Bolt-On Power Panelboards are transitioned to Limited phase beginning H1 2022, 
and Obsolete phase beginning H2 2022. This application space is filled by ReliaGear neXT 
Power Panelboards.
• Spectra Plug-In Power Panelboards are Obsolete H1 2022. This application space is filled by 
ReliaGear neXT Power Panelboards.
• Enclosed Spectra and Record Plus breakers & Enclosures for those breakers as well as 
enclosures for TQD MCCB’s sold separately are obsolete at the start of 2022. The active 
product, enclosures/enclosed breakers for TMAX XT and Formula A2 have been added.
• The 400A Special Purpose (Non-Fused Double Throw (N1 & 3R)) Safety Switches will become 
Limited in 1H2022 and Obsolete in 2H2022, with volume production ending in May 2022. 
These switches are completely replaced by new, Special Purpose (Non-Fused Double 
Through (N1 & 3R)) switches of a new, similar design.
• “Midwest” branded 400A Special Purpose (Non-Fused Double Throw (N1 & 3R)) Safety 
Switches will become Limited in 1H2022 and Obsolete in 2H2022, with volume production 
ending in May 2022. These switches are completely replaced by “Midwest Branded” switches 
of a new, similar design.
• Heavy Duty and General Duty 400-600A safety switches become Obsolete in 1H2022, with 
volume production ending in Feb 2022. These switches are completely replaced by switches 
of a new, similar design.
• Heavy Duty and General Duty “Midwest” branded 400-600A safety switches become 
Obsolete in 1H2022, with volume production ending in Feb 2022. These switches are 
completely replaced by “Midwest” branded switches of a new, similar design.
• Enclosed Rotary Switches, type NF, FC, and FJ transition to Classic / Limited in 1H2022, and 
Obsolete in 2H2022, with volume production ending in June. These switches and are 
replaced by a new consolidated EOT & EOS switch line that launches 2Q2022.
• 6-Pole Heavy Duty Safety Switches become obsolete 1H2022 with factory production 
ending 1Q. There is no “direct” replacement planned for this product line; Enclosed 6-Pole 
rotary switches should be considered to fill the application space.
• CR1062 Manual Motor Starters transition to Classic during the 1H2023. Non-combination 
starters should be considered as a replacement option.

Power Protection

Switches & Fusegear

•  OMD200E480C-A1 automatic control unit to Obsolete from 01.01.2022
• Full series of Fire Rated enclosed switches up to 1250A. Fire rated class F400.
• ZTS T-series 30-4000A enclosed ATS added to active products in H2 2021
• ZBTS T-series 100-4000A enclosed ATS added to active products in H2 2021
• OTDC S2.0 Series 100A-250A for 1500Vdc (OTDC100…250_G_) to active products in 
November 2021

Service Products

• New Direct Replacement GE EGG IEC based on Emax2 have been added in active products
• New Direct Replacement old/new Emax IEC based on Emax2 CCC will been added in active 
products from Jan.2022
• Direct Replacement old Emax IEC/CCC based on new Emax change to limited on Jan.2022 
and will be available for sales up to end of June 2023
• New Direct Replacement and CiC for GE AKD5 upto 2000A - AKD8 - AKD10 , fuseless 
ANSI/UL based on Emax2 have been added in active products
• Direct Replacement Retrofit EntelliGuard R (GE AKD5 above 2000A - AKD6 , fuseless) 
ANSI/UL based on Entelliguard G will be available up to April 2022 , and will be replaced with 
equivalent solution based on Emax2 (DR & CiC)
• Direct Replacement Retrofits EntelliGuard R (GE AKD5 -AKD6 - AKD8 - AKD10, fusible)
ANSI/UL based on Entelliguard G will be available for sales up to end of April 2022, and will 
be replaced with equivalent solution based on Emax2 (DR & CiC)
