ABB offers extended warranty solutions that can be ordered together with the product (only for circuit breakers) or to be ordered as a stand-alone service (for the defined ABB Low Volt-age products).

Q#1: Why should I get an ABB extended Warranty service for low-voltage product?

A#1: The standard factory warranty covers the low-voltage products for a limited period, starting from the date of production. After this period any service maintenance is the owner's responsibility.
Accessing to the ABB Extended Warranty service will extend this coverage over the extended period (up to 5 years).

Q#2: What circuit breakers are eligible for the ABB Extended Warranty service?

A#2:All Active (see LCM plan) products listed in the Extended Warranty tool: Air Circuit Breakers, Moulded Case Circuit Breakers, Soft Starters, UPS, Universal Motor Con-trollers, Power Supply and TVOC.

ABB Warranty Extension is available for products already delivered/installed (Serial Number must be known and the product must be still in the Standard Factory Warranty period).

Only for low voltage circuit breakers Extended warranty can be ordered also ordered as an accessory of the product (configured – “mounted only”).

Q#3: How long does the ABB Extended Warranty service last?

A#3: There are different scenarios based on the information shared with ABB and depending on the product: it is always required to specify the application (Solar, Marine, etc...) to check the environmental conditions.

Q#4: What is covered under the ABB Extended Warranty service?

A#4:ABB Extended Warranty service will provide the same coverage as the standard factory warranty for your ABB Products. Basically: Product malfunction and accessories malfunction (only if mounted on the product in ABB factory).

While ABB does not cover:

Short circuit damages.
Standard product wearing due to utilization.
Tampering damages.
Bad device utilization (too many operations, wrong supply, no maintenance, etc.…).
Plant damages (direct and indirect).
Bad environment (high vibration, corrosive environment, high thermal shocks, etc.…)

Q#5: How can I access to ABB Extended Warranty service?

A#5: First you need access the ABB Extended Warranty Tool and check if the warranty can be applied for the product(s) which you want an extension of warranty for. The output is a report with the list of the extended warranty Part number(s) you need to order, with standard purchase process, and one Registration code.

Now you can place a standard order with the part numbers and add the Registration code to activate the Warranty Extension.

Without a registration number specified in the order, the warranty is neither considered valid nor activated.

Q#6:What should I do if my ABB low-voltage product requires service?

A#6: The offered service is the same one of standard factory warranty, so just simply create a NCR (not conformity report). Insert information about product’s Serial Number and Extended Warranty Registration number (you received it when you made the Extended Warranty registration).

Q#7: How can I order the ABB Extended Warranty service?

A#7:Simply with the standard purchasing channel, by adding to the part number (commercial code) and the registration code obtained from the Extended warranty tool
