ABB has inaugurated a new customer drives test laboratory at its factory in Helsinki, Finland. The facility now enables customers to have their own motors tested with ABB’s variable speed drives (VSDs) to verify their impact on performance and energy consumption.

Two new frame sizes of the latest generation of high voltage rib cooled motors offer a lightweight, compact solution that packs more power per kilogram than other versions on the market. Together with an optional, independently certified IP66 rating, the motor’s design brings enhanced reliability and ease of maintenance.

Pre-engineered modular induction motor brings short delivery time, compact size, light weight and low purchase price for standard pump and fan applications that do not demand a highly specified motor. 

An ABB motor and gearing package is selected for use on screw conveyors at a new multi-million euro ammonium sulfate plant in the Netherlands. It was chosen for its high reliability, compact design, competitive price, rapid delivery and dimensional compatibility with competitor brands.
