In the most recent edition of the second most important mining convention in the world, PERUMIN, ABB's Industrial Automation business in Peru, opted to generate a circuit of its most demanded and acclaimed technologies by the mining industry for digitalization and automation. Large companies and national and international mining conglomerates were able to know a range of solutions that consolidate every day as the best option in remote assistance, predictive maintenance and performance optimization, engineering and consulting services.
Wilson Monteiro, Country Managing Director of ABB in Peru, explained that the Industrial Automation line of business sought to position in PERUMIN as the best alternative to helps mining companies get quick returns on their investments in this process towards digitalization. “In PERUMIN we have presented our 800xa system, and we have carried out for the public a simulation of automatization, control and advanced process control, all through the EOW (Extended Operator Workplace) and the Collaboration board. We can say that nowadays this system represents an important competitive differential element in companies”, said Monteiro.
Another solution of the Industrial Automation line, presented at Perumin, was the “ABB Ability ™ MineOptimize”, which connects and optimizes all stages of the life cycle of any mine, whether open pit or underground, from design and construction to operation and service.
“The concept of Mine Optimize is to bring digital mining to our customers through solutions that ABB has created, such as the operations control center, and thus allow them to monitor and supervise all the parameters of the mine, from the pit to the route to the port”, says Alvaro Castro, Manager of the Control Systems Line at ABB in Peru.
“ABB Ability ™ MineOptimize” includes fully integrated digital applications for companies that seek to consolidate themselves as mines of the future, such as asset management, information and operations, condition monitoring and advanced control processes, which offer complete visibility of the integrated operation of the mine.
Another of the novelties presented for the first time in PERUMIN was the "LLT100", the most innovative transmitter in the level of fluids and solids manufactured for industrial applications and adverse environments such as mining.
Máximo Quispe, Head of Instrumentation and Analytics in the Industrial Automation Business division of ABB in Peru, commented that they designed this product based on laser technology and without contact, so the “LLT100” performs the measurements accurately and has a range of 30 meters for liquids, 100 meters for solids and 200 meters for positioning.
