The new government building complex is one of the largest construction projects in Norway through the ages. It will provide safe and good workspaces for the ministries and an open and green urban space for the inhabitants. Gross building space is planned for approx. 125,000 square meters, of which approx. 37,000 square meters are underground. In addition, approx. 37,000 square meters of existing buildings are being rehabilitated.
ABB has signed a contract with Statsbygg to provide the following electronic security systems and associated engineering and project services to the new government building complex:
- Automated burglar security alarm system
- Automated access control system
- CCTV surveillance system
- Drone protection
“We are honored to be selected provider of security systems for this vital and historic project,“ says Per Erik Holsten, Country Managing Director of ABB in Norway. “It shows, among other things, that competence built up through large industrial projects with integrated project teams, design, engineering and project management is invaluable, also for such infrastructure projects.“
The work commenced immediately and will be carried out in an interaction contract over two phases:
- Phase 1: Establishment of a common understanding for the implementation of detailed design and execution
- Phase 2: Detailed design, production and execution
Automated burglar security alarm systems, automated access control systems and CCTV surveillance systems include complete systems for the entire project.
