The event took place for the sixth consecutive year and twenty-four Bulgarian companies that promote and develop charitable actions at their premises participated. All of them consider charity as an important part of their sustainability efforts and offer their employees opportunities to get involved in donations and volunteering actions, bazaars, experience and knowledge sharing with children and young people.
Based on criteria including the number of initiatives, the number of employees involved in the charity activities and the contributed amount, the candidates are graded, and the winners are selected. For the first time this year ABB Bulgaria’s branch in Rakovski is one of the participants and managed to receive the Bronze award.
The Annual Sign is an award established by the BCause Foundation in collaboration with the Bulgarian Society for Public Relations and the Bulgarian Association for People Management. In 2020 the Bulgarian Association of CSR Specialists also joined the program.
ABB Bulgaria’s Rakovski Branch had a lot of successful initiatives over the years and every year the number of employees engaging in these initiatives is increasing.’s Those activities are in full support of ABBs global sustainability objective on promoting social progress,, reinforcing the company’s long-standing commitment to community engagement by providing impactful support for community-building initiatives across three pillars: education, diversity and inclusion, and care in the community.
Among the most important charity actions which Rakovski branch participated in with its employees engagement in 2020 are the Martenitsas with a cause, Operation “Teddy Bear”, Virtual Christmas Bazaar, and Metal Hearts in connection with the "Caps for the Future" campaign. With joint efforts, the amount donated for our various initiatives amounts to a little over BGN 9,000, which brought the Rakovski Branch a Bronze Annual Sign and recognition for its charitable activities during the year.
"This award is a confirmation that the purposeful efforts we have been making more actively over the last two years have had a visible result. And it is an incentive to expand the activities in the organization related to volunteering. The most important thing for me is that more and more employees want, offer and get involved in volunteer initiatives. And so, we will make our environment an even better place to work and live. "said Viliana Bakalova, HR Business Partner and one of the most committed employees regarding the charity campaigns.
Among the companies that were awarded the Bronze Sign are Kaufland, Coca-Cola, Mondelize and others.
