It forms a new attraction in the skyline of the banking metropolis: The Grand Tower in Frankfurt's Europaviertel rises 180 meters into the sky, making it the tallest residential tower in Germany. The imposing building has 47 floors, a lobby on the ground floor and three technical floors under the roof. The 418 apartments with sizes ranging from 60 to around 300 square meters, offer living comfort that is hard to beat and features that meet the highest demands. Innovative door communication with ABB-Welcome IP
To the same extent that the multiple award-winning building meets the highest architectural standards, the installation technology of the Grand Tower also meets all the requirements for smart and safe living. A special highlight is the innovative ABB-Welcome IP door communication system with HD video communication, which can be used for outdoor, indoor and remote monitoring of residential and functional buildings. Its user interface is uniform and intuitive on all devices. Brushed stainless steel and aluminum paired with a low installation depth for flush and surface mounting underline the sophisticated design of the door communication system. ABB-Welcome IP in the Grand Tower is the most extensive installation in Germany to date in a residential building.
Chip card to the building
The 24 outdoor stations from ABB-Welcome IP grant the residents in the parking garage, at the barrier and on building doors access to the building via a chip card. Guests register with the concierge via the stations. After consultation, he will guide them to the elevator and directly to the target floor. In particular, the possibility of bidirectional communication between residents and the concierge is a very useful function.
90 kilometers of data lines
Around 90 kilometers of data lines were laid for the electrical installation in the Grand Tower, 16 kilometers of which were for ABB-Welcome IP to control 413 ABB-Welcome IP indoor and 24 outdoor stations, 16 Power-over-Ethernet (POE) switches, eight Data distributors and 24 IP switch actuators. In addition to the ABB-Welcome IP and the associated devices, sub-distributors, automatic circuit breakers and modular installation devices from ABB are used in the installation. Just like the ABB-Welcome IP, they are characterized by simple installation and quick commissioning.
