ABB shares vision of digital future at WIIC

The 2019 World Industrial Internet Conference (WIIC) and Qingdao International Software Convergence & Innovation Expo opened today in Qingdao, a coastal city in East China’s Shandong Province. ABB impressed the visitors from home and abroad with a comprehensive exhibition of innovative products and digital solutions ranging from electrification, industrial automation, motion, robotics and discrete automation to power grids. ABB will also host a full-day parallel forum on July 26 for in-depth exchanges of views on the development and application of digital technologies as well as the industry trends of Industrial Internet.

Mr. ZZ Zhang, Managing Director of ABB in China shared his insights on hot topics as industrial digitalization, high-end manufacturing plus artificial intelligence with government, academicians and businesses from Qingdao and Shandong Province, "With the deep integration of the new-generation information technology with manufacturing, Industrial Internet is giving a new push to the development of future industries. To build an open, collaborative and innovation digital ecosystem based on the Industrial Internet demonstrates the megatrend to meet the needs of intelligent transformation of different industries.”

ABB will also hold a parallel forum including 14 speeches and two panel discussions, focusing on smart manufacturing, smart cities and smart energy enabled by digital technologies. The speeches will cover a wide range of topics including robotics, industrial software, big data-based asset performance management, the application of AI technologies, the digitalization in process industry and marine, oil and chemical industries, future smart cities, and smart energy management.

At the same time, ABB is also exhibiting its innovative products at the China International Software Convergence & Innovation Expo. The 430m2 booth is showcasing industry-leading ABB AbilityTM digital solutions, including industrial robots, digital powertrains, smart motors, servo motion control, flexible transport system, digitalization of process industry, intelligent power distribution, smart building control, smart charging for electric vehicles, shore-to-ship power supply, meeting the extensive demands from power plant to any plug.

Shandong is a major economically developed province and one of the key markets for ABB in China. As a new first-tier city, Qingdao has strong industrial foundation and a complete industrial system. The city has rolled out plans to propel the integration of AI technologies with the real economy, accelerate the development of smart manufacturing and robotic industry, with an aim to develop the city into a world-class industry cluster for high-end intelligent appliance, rail equipment and new-energy vehicles (NEV).

Combining ABB's industry-leading digital solutions and global footprint with the customers' industry expertise, both sides will join efforts to explore the rising opportunities of digital transformation, and support the industrial upgrading in Shandong province.
