About us

The ABB Corporate Research Centre is located in the very heart of the historical part of Kraków, at Starowiślna Street, just a few minutes’ walk from the Main Market Square. It is one of the seven ABB research centres in the world. Opened in 1997, it is the only ABB Group research centre in the Central and Eastern Europe region. Since its inception, the research centre has been developing the latest technologies for the energy and automation industry for the ABB Group.

At the ABB Corporate Research Centre, we work on innovative solutions with the use of pioneering technologies that enable us to better supply energy to the whole world. The projects are interdisciplinary and international in nature and are created in cooperation with other centres and business units of the ABB Group, research facilities and universities.

Currently, the centre has more than 25 laboratories, including electrical, electronic, power electronics, high voltage, mechanical, material research and nanotechnology laboratories. The Corporate Research Centre's activity has become an incubator for future investments of the ABB Group in Kraków.
