encouraged to arrive early. Our hands-on
classes and breakout sessions will be on the 3rd floor of the Hilton
Americas Hotel across from the George R. Brown convention center.
We are offering 29, 1-hr sessions focusing on Automation, Measurement, Liquids and Analytics. There will also be 3, 3 ½ hr Hands-on sessions coving the Flow,computer, Natural Gas Chromatograph and RMC (as seen in red).

- 1:30pm – 2:30pm Discover the Benefits of ABB Automation Applications Participants learn about the automation applications available for Totalflow Products. Topics include: Trending, Alarms, Valve Control, PID, and Shutdowns.
- 1:30pm – 2:30pm NGC Apps Product Overview - Learn the basics of how to measure gas using the natural gas chromatograph and its TCD detectors. Review of the modular concept for the NGC/PGC analyzer platform and available analytical measurement applications. Presentation includes use of PCCU to highlight possible startup or maintenance activities.
- 1:30pm – 2:30pm ABB CoriolisMaster Meters - Twisted Measurement Explore how the Coriolis works, and how to choose the right one based on the application. Discussions include LACT, allocation metering, (produced water, oil) or from a separator, etc.
- 1:30pm – 2:30pm Flow Comp App Overview of Gas Measurement applications (AGA3, AGA7) as well as a live demonstration of the enhanced measurement applications and BLM requirements.
- 1:30pm – 5:00pm XCORE - The One Unit Solution This class covers functionality and performance, integration into ABB enclosures (Xcore), examples of different wellpad configuration files, interfacing with instrumentation, host systems, and local HMIs.
- 1:30pm – 2:30pm ABB Instrumentation - Robust, Accurate and Easy Review of the features and benefits of monitoring and control with ABB’s suite of pressure, temperature, I/P converter, and new multivariable transmitters.
- 1:30pm – 5:00pm Hands-On NGC The NGC training class is designed to equip students with a basic understanding of how to configure and work with ABB’s natural gas chromatographs. This class includes a comprehensive overview of chromatography, installation of the NGC, identification of the hardware components, Collection Unit Software (PCCU) setup, and NGC setup. This training utilizes ABB’s NGC simulator
- 1:30pm – 5:00pm Hands-On RMC Discover ABB’s powerful new solution with the Remote Modular Controller. The class covers various aspects of the RMC configuration, such as functionality & performance, integration into ABB enclosures (Xcore), examples of different wellpad configuration files, interfacing with different instrumentation, host systems, and local HMIs.
- 2:45pm – 3:45pm Unlock the Value in Your ABB Plunger Lift Program This class will cover the ABB Plunger Lift Application's functionality, optimization features and shared best practices. Plunger Analysis Software (PAS) will also be covered as a supplemental "Managed by Exception" approach to an asset of Plunger wells.
- 2:45pm – 3:45pm Introduction to the PGC5000 Review the PGC 5000 gas chromatograph product in terms of overall capabilities and specifically addressing applications in the Natural Gas and NGL markets for Transmission, Gas Processing and Fractionation market segments

Includes sample considerations and challenges in measuring in a hydrocarbon stream with a focus on H2S, H2O, CO2, and O2. Explore application examples in natural gas transport & processes.
- 4:00pm - 5:00pm Spirit - A New Generation of Measurement Software This class covers the Spirit IT software solutions related to gas & liquid custody transfer applications such as LACTs, crude oil gathering stations and pipeline metering stations. Host software systems for both gas and liquid applications such as system balancing will be presented.

- 8:30am – 9:30am Mag/Vortex Liquids App This class will review the application of differential pressure, vortex, and thermal mass flow metering, differences between meters, pros and cons of use, product installation, and the different applications and benefits of the flow meters in upstream oil & gas applications. Case studies will be presented.
- 8:30am – 9:30am Advanced RTU/FCU Learn the basic functions and controls available utilizing the Totalflow operations and trending applications. A general explanation of these functions will be presented, as well as a “real world” custom configuration that will demonstrate how an advanced function can be developed and implemented. Describe and setup the ABB measurement applications as it relates to field measurement.

- 8:30am – 12:00pm FCU Hands On This class is an overview of the µFLOG5 and XSeries flow computers and explores a history of the Flow Computer Unit (FCU) and the features of the FCU including applications and operations. This session covers the 32-Bit Loader, collecting and saving data, calibration, trending, display programming, operations, and Ethernet remote communications.
- 8:30am – 9:30am What's New - Product Updates Overview of the various updates and features that will be available through 2019 such as ABB Digital (Lighthouse) and wireless instrumentation.
- 8:30am – 9:30am Grounding Bonding Learn to properly size solar/battery systems and design/configure comms for measurement & automation sites. Understand why & how devices and locations are considerations in sizing decisions. Sizing review for current draw based on sleep mode, transmit and receive will be discussed.
