ABB to showcase its control system for sugar industry at ISSCT

ABB presented the automation technology for the sugar industry at Chiang Mai International Conventional and Exhibition Center (CMECC) during 5-8 December 2016 to demonstrate its reliable power to end of the line packaging.

This event is the worldwide international platform to exchange knowledge and showcase the advancement of technologies and innovations related to sugarcane and sugar worldwide.

ABB exhibited some of its latest technology innovation VM3D volumetric laser scanner” which is a laser volume product used for inventory management and automated stockpile management.  By integrating accurate laser technology into a network of scanning instruments, complex surfaces can be mapped accurately. The system makes use of remote monitoring and data processing services to guarantee data integrity to the level needed for confident stock management and precise auditing.

As part of its showcase, ABB demonstrated the picking/packing & palletizing solutions which provide flexibility for greater and shorter run packaging variations, while increasing output and reducing waste and floor space.

“I get used to some ABB products i.e. motors and drives, but never learn that ABB provides product and solution for sugar industry as well,” one of the client who visited at the booth.   Hence, this is a good opportunity for ABB to meet and discuss with OEMs, System Integrator as well as end customers.
