Turbocharging technology that turns your exhaust into onboard energy
Our PTL 3200 power turbine uses the energy in exhaust gas to generate mechanical or electrical power. This turbine has an electrical output of up to 3,200 kW and is used on high-efficiency two-stroke marine engines.
PTL converts "surplus" exhaust gas from a ship's main engine into onboard energy for a simultaneous reduction in engine emissions and fuel consumption. In converting exhaust into on-board energy, PTL 3200 also reduces fuel consumption and emissions.
- Fuel and emissions savings ≈4%
- Fuel and emissions savings ≈10%; for marine engines ≥20 MW
PTL can be configured in two different ways:
- As a stand-alone driving a generator via a reduction gearbox
- With a steam turbine
